Hey Sax Players and Music Lovers.

A touch of sad tonight - I had been nominated for a Smooth Jazz Award in Gospel Jazz and the American Smooth Jazz Awards were announced tonight (12-29-10 in Chicago) and I did not win. I have to admit I am a little sad, but to loose to a mentor and sax hero makes it pretty easy to deal with!!

My dear friend Kirk Whalum won and so deserves to! Kirk is the guy we all strive to be more like! Both musically and personally; Kirk is consistent and talented like no other! I was proud to be listed with Kirk on the Nominations and happy to announce Kirk Whaulm as the 2010 recipient of Gospel Jazz 2010 Award!!
