The time - IT FLY'S BY!

I am a week into Tax prep for 2009 taxes as are many of my Musician friends! WE all know that the REAL TAX DEADLINE is October 15th - the Double Extension!!

SO - the genius that is me, spends days cleaning up and organizing to start this process that is really compiling 12 months of books since I take the stuff to a CPA to file the taxes! I think that is the case for many of us. Are we DOING TAXES?? Not really. We are usually doing bookkeeping to be able to file taxes, and the pie chart would show that most of the time is spent preparing to get to that point.

SO - is this a surprise?? Taxes come every October 15th! I don't think it is old age getting forgetful either since much of the procrastination comes from great distaste in doing something that always breaks the piggy-bank and is never done very well. I think most of us have a great sense of achievement when facing tasks that we know we will do well. But I also know that stuff we suck at, will always bring us down at the very thought of it.

SO - why so few posts lately? Been in my personal cave - shut in until I can make the deadline and avoid further life destruction. AND WHY THE POST NOW??  My mind fills with all the stuff I HAVE TO DO the very minute I sit down to do that which I REALLY have to do.

Further procrastination. One must practice anything to get really good. I believe I will be competing in the Olympics in 2012 for putting things off, might even make the Genus Book of World Records on the way.

Of course I wont be there until sometime in 2013.....

I guess the good news is also the bad news - I have tons of time to get these things done because I am not working at all this month! Glad to have the time and so little struggle for it; sad that it means some real financial disasters has now begun. God is good and this too shall pass!!

We get it a day at a time and that is how we will take it......
