Fun Weekend for Contemporary Jazz Shows
Hello to my friends online!!
I am having a pretty awesome week!! It started Sunday with a huge Greg Vail Pro Jam and very successful fund raising effort for Ben Vail's trip to Zambia! Vanessa and Ben = my awesome kids - performed and did GREAT!!! Ben made a dent in the bills for his trip and I had toooooo much fun!!
Monday I picked up music for East Bay Soul - a great funk jazz group headed by Greg Adams. I did a bunch of listening and prepared for Wednesday's rehearsal in the valley. Yesterday's rehearsal went great!! The band is really good! I only hope we get a good turn out on TAX DAY and I am trying to do my part to get the word out! Anthology - San Diego - 730 show!!

After Anthology I head out to Palm Desert - Indio actually - to play a new Casino with my friend Dean Grech. This is a lounge type gig so I think it is free to come down.

The Schedule stuff on my site is working better than ever and I am up to date - I just don't get it listed months ahead of time.
I am excited about playing with Dean again after an amazing show at Spaghettini last week in Seal Beach CA. We had an amazing gig and I had the time of my life going crazy with a saxophone!
2 days in the desert and a great hotel room with a pool. Hoping to get a few minutes to relax but have much I really want to finish while I am there too!
I gotta get to work on that long list of things no one will ever see before tonight's show! Unload the car PA gear - load saxes - clothes, video, camera, music - shower n shave - mail - bills - CPA for extension - computers packed - Chiropractor on the way south - 2PM load in - 3PM sound check - 90 minute show starts at 730. Y'all see the show with the cool shirt and think HOW LUCKY WE MUST BE!! Somewhere in the middle of the next 27 hours I have to review all the Dean Grech music too and look for some tunes to add from my book.
