HP Rant # 5006 hate these guys.....

Have not posted a good rant in a while....

I have spent all morning with HP frustration boiling to a point of anger and even hate. I am the sad owner of an HP product that was designed as if Satan himself, was on the product development team.

With dozens of features designed to make the consumer call Therapists for help not long after searching thru HP HELPS and Forums looking for any solutions for bad and/or evil design; HP has got my goat once again.

HP software is very intrusive and I have ZERO trust of a US Company like HP!
 - Artificial Ink levels - no way to ever know whether the levels are low and if you need to replace
 - Mandatory Ink replacement - full function shut down if not replaced - regardless of task! Print punishment will cut off every function, regardless of the logic. Example - can not scan when the yellow ink is proposed to be low.
 - I could go on for days, but need to focus on topics not covered in old rants right here.....

I hate the software but decided to reinstall everything online - so the latest drivers and updates would all be included. It has taken all morning to get the updated drivers, software loaded to check thru the system for anything they wanted control over that was not working in classic HP control freak manner.

I kept getting the error messages that I needed to install Scan.msi so I went thru the full download form HP - thinking - it would resolve this stupid error - I can't find the Scan.msi on any of the discs I had. FULL DOWNLOAD - FIX IT? What do you think????

SAME ERROR - Restart again to make sure - STILL WON'T SCAN - of course I replaced all the color cartridges even though I print BW all day and watch the levels drop for the color cart's. EXPLAIN THAT ONE HP!!!

ALL SOFTWARE is current and the latest possible updates on drivers when the HP updater searches the system. You think I can scan a stupid page of music yet???

What about Optional Software - RECOMMENDED!!  OK - so another waste of time. Still can not get a basic scan from the scan button on the unit or from any scan options from the PC. I get the same instalation error.

This unit functioned fine a few months ago. I was concerned about updating stuff because I DONT TRUST HP !!!!!!

I have no idea how they do this but I am very convinced that some of the computer industry has taken designed obsolescence to a software space - If I more time out of this printer than they think I should have - Can they add dysfunction to an update -  OF COURSE THEY CAN!

Do they?? Guess that would fall under a trust issue. A bit of research on planned obsolescence will certainly make you think twice. I think it is one level of evil when the printer guesses ink levels and shuts down if you don't change them with cartridges that have not been used before, even when you bought the same brand printer because the broke one have full carts, brand new and replacement carts, so it seemed to be a smart purchase. <The cartridges get tagged as being used and will not be accepted when you try and move them, regardless of the ink levels or the fact that it should be the humans choice and not the stupid 300 dollar printer>

I am done for now - I still have not been able to check off a very basic task from my to do list thanks to HP SUCKING!

Going OFFICE SPACE SOON! Get the gun and  the video camera.......
