New Years Resolutions - Input and Perspective

Hey Blog peeps!
I have been thinking and talking to people, and have begun putting some ideas out there for input from people like you. I have long been an advocate of seeking counsel on any area of life that is important and today's post begins a new section on the
Sax Players Blog - asking questions!

The purpose is simple.
I want to be better this year than last year at everything I do. I want to do things on purpose and improve as I go! I think we all want to do that.
First thought or question - I see lots of hits to my blog on the stats, yet I see very few people chiming in and responding. Reading but not responding. I started taking small polls on my
Face Book Smooth Jazz page recently and found lots of people willing to respond to a question, but have noticed they seldom chime in and respond otherwise.
Are you more willing to respond to a BLOG or a Facebook page?
If I ask more questions, will you post your thoughts for all of us to see and learn from?
Do you think Blogs are yesterday?
Should I or anyone bother with an independent blog or should I just focus on Blogging in set communities like Face Book or My Space?
I know a 'Community blog' like Face Book or My Space has its own community already, but I feel like it excludes those that have not discovered it yet or don't like socials; where an open blog has access to the entire world to find, read and enjoy or respond as they see fit. It is an access issue for me. The question has less to do with access today, and more to do with impact.
Just wondering.....
When I started this blog, the intention was to make a place in cyberspace that a professional sax player, in Southern California, opened a window to the life that this world brings. It seems to me that this is valuable since so many do seem to drop in and see what is up. But, wanting things to be the best and biggest they can be; I am just wondering what your thought are, and if you might respond to a direct request like this, even if to say you don't like these things and would never respond.
