I promised to attempt to fill in some of the blanks over the past week or 2 so here goes.
Wednesday, July 2, I was home from Virginia and on my way to Yamaha offices for an exciting opportunity. I was video tapped for a new podcast series that will feature Yamaha Artists with information about that artist, about the Yamaha instruments they play, and updates on their careers and future activities.
I think I might been the first artist they are trying this new series on, and was happy to be involved. The tapping was done at Yamaha offices in Buena Park and Intern Lyndsay was my interview person.
Pictured here is Lyndsay and Greg Vail -

Not seen are here 15 inch heels which make me look short and/or her very tall.
The session lasted about an hour and a half so I hope they end up with at least a few minutes of video that I don't sound too stupid in. It was really fun hanging at the office and telling stories. I believe a few might even make the video, but we will have to wait and see.

This was the set we used. They call this the Yamaha LA Artilier but since I have no idea how to say it, one could assume I have it spelled wrong too. It is the cool room they made for cool Yamaha stuff at the cool new Yamaha Band and Orchestra place in Buena Park, California.
Lyndsay asked me questions and I tried to answer them. It was a nice interview vibe. Kurt Whitt, head of Band and Orchestra for the US said the Podcast should be ready late August and I will be posting it and links and all once it is available.
I was just very happy that Yamaha asked me and included Greg Vail in the Yamaha spot light for a minute. Thanks to Kurt Whitt, Lyndsay and anyone at Yamaha that could have said no and did not!
I really do love these people!
Here is the view you'll see when it goes live.

All very cool!!!!!
I sent Yamaha my full library of Greg Vail Video for use in the podcast, as they see fit, along with artwork and info on the new CD - Smooth Jazz Classics. Much of our discussion had to do with the new CD and I have great hope that this podcast helps to get the word out about the exciting project.
Thanks to Kurt Whitt for the images. I will post links once it is ready! Thanks for reading,
Greg Vail
