Smooth Jazz Classics
What started off as a routine trip to the hairdresser ended up different this
time.
You see, I have a new CD coming out and needed to clean up a bit for
pictures to be taken this week for art work. I have been talking about this dang
CD forever now, and yes it is real. Yes it is going to be available one day. Yes
we are getting closer.
Clean up was where I started. I got a cut and color, nice and long and much
healthier looking I might add. There where 4 women in the salon and my friend
Shannon looked at it and said it needed to go. She went on to say that NO ONE in
Smooth Jazz has long hair except for the ...... edit.
So, I looked at my hairdresser, Sherry Kennedy, and said, "Do what Shannon
says." We cut it all off today. All the hair, beautiful 80's, dated, old guy,
cool musician - was left on the floor.
Now a little hair history would say, it grows really fast. I had long
blond, middle of the back hair and cut it all off when my baby was born 8 years
ago. I then grew it for a while and decided I looked like an ugly lead singer
for Meat Loaf and did the spike blond thing. I then had a friend that was very
pretty that said she liked it long so I grew it until today. It was mid back and
mid boob and one length - really long.
Not anymore.
So my Vanessa was shocked to see it and not happy. She said she liked her
Dad's long hair and I told her I had already started growing it back (since it
is always growing. People say, "Oh you're growing your hair out and I say I have
been growing my hair out for over 40 years, I just have not cut it in a long
time. You see, growing is an act of omission. You have to DO SOMETHING to get it
short, and NOTHING to get it long - but I digress.)
SO Vanessa was a little freaked out. The only other person I could go show
was my neighbor Amanda, and she was in shock and liked it, but was definitely in
shock.
The 4 women in the room all loved it this afternoon. We will see how well
it goes over in the next few public appearances. No I don't have a picture to
post - I JUST GOT IT DONE A FEW HOURS AGO.
Yes, I will post a picture tomorrow, if I can get a picture that does not
suck with my camera and the timer thingy.
I digressed from the very start it seems.
This was to be a CD Update.
I am working on pictures and art work - hence the long and stupid comments
above.
The mixing guy, Tom McCauley called today and said he talked to the
Mastering guy, Steve Hall, and was going to get the final mix fixes, option
mixes and thread mixes we had discussed ready by tomorrow. He then would be
forwarding the master mix to Mastering. Then it would seem that Smooth Jazz
Classics would be out of his hair and in Steve's hair for the Mastering.
Now, the mastering is a day of work, sending a CD to get approved,
possible fix day and pay experience. Since Steve is in Oregon, I will not be
going up for Mastering, but will be getting discs to approve. That should go
much quicker than mixing has, but I might add, the mixes are amazing and Tom
McCauley is a god among men (little g, but still really amazing.)
Assuming the Discs send tomorrow, arrive weeks end, get a day beginning of
next week, travel by disc to me a few days later, sound great and go to
manufacturing.......
That would put CDs in possible manufacturing in 2 weeks. This of course
assuming I can get that money tree in the backyard to start producing fruit this
week.
SOOOOO
That would be the update.
No Hair
