HSBC - Household Bank Card Services
WOW was a surprised to open my mail and find
Household Bank tripled my interest rate. I have heard of this kind of thing but have to say, experiencing it first hand - IT IS
EVIL! Even the timing of the letter - right before Christmas and during a time that mail gets overlooked and mail response times are stretched due to both weather and overload to the mail system.
EVIL is the only word that comes to mind. If I had been late on payments or run over the limit a few times, I would understand - I screwed up! But, I have been
on time and
regular on payments. I have paid the minimum the last few months due to expenses for the new CD, but that's it.
The made the decision based on an Equifax report that I have yet to see, but I was told it says my credit number dropped. If I am current and in good standing, why would they do this? The answer is, because they can!
It is in the agreement.
They can change your interest rate to the default rate just because they want to. They can offer you a deal on a rate, then decide you are not worthy of that rate and
change it to an absurd rate.

Your good standing with the company means nothing! They don't care about you. They only care about what they can squeeze out of you. Most of us know this, but what a rude reminder.
Household Bank has gone too far. Too big for their britches!
So, I guess it's time for some
Household Bank bashing. Other
Credit Card Companies suck too. This topic has been discussed before. But, now I know
Household Bank is one of the bad ones.
Household Bank can kiss my hind quarters!I did call and talk to
Household Bank Credit Card Customer Service about this letter.
They were useless. Of course, I demanded to speak to a supervisor and had to wait 7-10 minutes more for this
Household Band Credit Supervisor to get to the phone. I would guess she was busy with other
unhappy customers. (And they call it Customer Service??)
She did tell me I had the option of not accepting the change and closing the account. I said I would do that but was not going to pay the balance in full. She told me I would be able to set it up as a closed account and make payments at the old rate to pay the account off. I have no idea how much the payments will be, but I told her I would accept that.
This was when I realized the
EVIL of the timing of this letter. This time of year, we have less time to deal with the details of an
account change, and it is only dumb luck that I read this
notice and was able to get on top of it right away.
Watch your Credit Card Company
PLEASE - Read carefully, each notice you get or it could cost you thousands in extra interest or worse. These people suck. They will do whatever they can to screw you. These are not nice people.
I have tried to play by the rules and be a good, yet poor American. These companies are taking total advantage of the
new Bankruptcy laws to screw and punish good customers for the sins of the BK abusers of the past.
Depending on how things work out with
Household Credit Services, I could be starting specific
Household Bank and
Credit Card sites, blogs and posting thru news groups and blogs online regarding the EVIL of this
Credit Card company and other
Credit Card Companies that are abusing good people in good standing, just because they can.
So - another rant - already!
And a worthy rant.

HSBC - needs to reconsider their business practices and stop punishing good customers for NO REASON! We will speak out! We will get pissed! We will be responsible for diverting business from BAD CREDIT SERVICES and support Credit Card Companies that treat customers like they matter; like they are important, like they are valued; like they deserve good treatment when they pay there bills - WHAT A CONCEPT!!

I found
2600 sites listed with that exact term. There are thousands more in different variations. My advise would be to search any company
offering Credit Cards to you with
SUCKS after the name and see what other consumers that have used them have to say.
2600 times "HSBC Sucks" - that is truly amazing. Why I never thought of this before stumps me. PLEASE take the time to
check out any bank making a "great offer" for a new Credit Card before accepting their "great offer" since they can and will (my experience) change that "great rate" to an absurd rate before you know it.
