Smooth Jazz Classics - Sounding great!

Sorry, but the online presence is always off when the schedule picks up.

I have been working hard on the new CD! I spent the last few days arranging woodwinds and strings for a beautiful Stevie Wonder track. I wish I was quicker, but I seem to take for ever doing this stuff. I spent 2 arranging for 5 woodwinds (2 Flutes, 2 Clarinets, Bass Clarinet) and strings (Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass).

Then I had to track the parts. Played the Flutes and Clarinets and covered the Bass Clarinet and String parts on the EWI - VLM70; 1 track at a time for each voice. Then decided the Strings did not sound full enough, so I went thru the Roland banks I had and doubled them, 1 at a time and mixed them in stereo, the Yamaha sounds to the left and the Roland sounds to the right. Rough mixed them tonight and went thru the woodwinds editing the volumes of each track so they will be easy to deal with in the mix.

What I have sounds really good to me. I listened to the track - before and after, and love the orchestrations!

Next things on the to do list are finish the originals and work on horn parts for The In Crowd.

Signing off for today,

SAXBOY
