KSBR Bash

Every Memorial Day Weekend,
KSBR Radio throws a giant Birthday Party called the BASH. Smooth Jazz Artists come together to support the cool radio station that has been supporting their music for the past 12 months. This fund raiser keeps
KSBR Commercial free and on the radio for 12 more months.

This years BASH was held at Mission San Juan Capistrano again. This venue is really nice and we hope to be able to do it there again next year. The setting is so beautiful and relaxed.
The BASH is a very unique event. Smooth Jazz Artists come together to be a star for 1 song, and then a support musician for everybody else. Many of these guys are the boss all year long until this day, when they have to support another boss for a minute or 6 or more...
I love this! Funny thing is, every year things crash and things fly. There are moments when it looks like everything is falling apart, and then some tunes that just kill. Of course, the musicians hear it and the audience is simply amazed all day long.
Artists this year?
Kelly Sweet, Michael Paulo, Sara Gazarek, Michael Manson, Brian Simpson, Nils, Chuck Loeb, Bill Cantos, David Boswell, Max Bennett, Greg Adams, Dan Siegel, Rob Whitlock, Greg Vail, Evan Stone, Ray Fuller, Shannon Kennedy, Tony Guerrero, Joey Sellers, Tom Dante, Steve Ferone, Nat Scott, Mombo Hernandez, David Levray, Melvin Davis, and Brian Bromberg. Plus, we had some special surprise guests: Hiroshima, Peter White, David Pack, Jackiem Joyner.

MY Previous Years Articles are all linked on the 2006 BASH link below.

How about a few 2007 PICs??

That's a full stage night shot - Tony Guerrero and Greg Adams on Trumpets, Joey Sellers on Trombone and Rob Whitlock on Keys stage Left.
Here's Nils and Jackiem Joyner on Sax - Greg Adams is hiding.

In other news. Tomorrow I go to David Packs studio to re-record the Sax Parts on 2 old Ambrosia tunes. That should be pretty cool since David is doing really well in the smooth jazz world these days and the tunes are classics.
I will finish Shannon's CD horn arranging in the next day or so and be working on both my CD projects this week. With all the contacts made at the BASH again this year, work should finally be picking up some!
More to come.
