Shannon Kennedy New Project
Shannon has a new project she is working on of 70's tunes. As always, she has me working on some of it. I arranged flute parts for a track earlier this week and it turned out pretty good. On the list of things to get done are a full orchestra arrangement with sheet music parts for her to perform woodwinds live and brass and percussion parts performed on my EWI to fill out the orchetra parts. That will take a little time, but sounds pretty interesting to me.
Shannon's most recent CD, Steppin' Up, is still available at CD Baby. I produced it and guests included Kirk Whalum on Sax, Peter White on Accordian and Guitar, Tony Guerrero on Trumpet and Me, Greg Vail on Tenor Sax, percussion, EWI and other stuff.
The new CD will be Shannon's 3rd CD and we are unsure about release dates and what we will do with it, but it is on my schedule, creating a work load. The Flute arranging took a day, and this orchetra arrangement might take a week or so.
Wish I was gigging more so I could pass this off to someone else. But, since I have some time, I will be working on further rounding out my job skills.
Of course, we are still plugging away on my new CDs. I started going back thru the Gospel Hymns Tunes and cleaning up tracks. Tony Guerrero has been unavailable for the Smooth Classics CD for a few weeks now so nothing there.
There were a few Sax Reviews dotcom updates on the site. I have a few more reviews submitted to add too. I also did another page on the Gospel Jazz CDs dotcom site adding more artists. EMails have been many and I do try to get back to each one.
I think the only other news of note is the start of a Sax Gift Store. Shannon Kennedy will be designing the site and characters for shirts, hats, and more. Greg Vail Band items, Shannon Kennedy items and the sax kids line will be very fun once it gets online. We hope to have the store stocked and online for Christmas 2007! More as it gets going.
Gotta get back to work for now,
