Tony Guerrero and I met yesterday to work on an original track for our upcoming Smooth Classics CD. This track was a different direction than we had started out on, but that is the journey. WHat the world sees as a new CD always comes with a step at a time.

We started off to do a project of great classic Smooth Jazz tunes from the 70's amd 80's. The feel was Urban and Smooth. This track has a more folk feel with the Guitar carrying the sound at this point and a Country Shuffle Brush feel in the drums. Time will tell if this CD will be more original tunes or more classic tunes - both - or 2 different CDs.

I was excited about the tune Tony brought to the table. We worked on it, set up 2 key centers with in and outs, and I tracked a work version on the sax so we could live with it for a while and get further ideas as to form and content.

I love the process and look forward to getting this thing done for you all to hear.

On another note. Recording the Sax - I have been using and love my AEA Ribbon Mic for Sax. I am off to the store right now to shop for a Mic Pre for it. I had a Martech for a minute but had to sell it. Shopping in a budget and looking for the perfect match.

That's all for now.

Greg
