First 2 weeks of 2007
What a extreme last few days! I have been stressing about a business deal that looks pretty bad right now. Some serious financial stress is looking more and more real and I have little I can do about it at this point. It has had me very distracted the last few weeks and should be sorted out over the next week or 2. Not saying anything more about it now but expect a major post soon.
The Gerber Update - Johannes was supposed to ship the missing mouthpieces last week, but nothing yet. It looks like he is catching up and I found a post on SaxOnTheWeb that said a 2 year wait was just received. I have big hopes of resolution for Gerber clients and am waiting to see when Lee gets his mouthpiece.
So, on the lighter side - NAMM is 2 weeks away and the line up for the Yamaha Dealer Show is amazing! I will post the list of artists once I know I can. These things can be pretty hush hush, but, it is a totally cool show planned!
Akai came thru with the new EWI. I am the happy owner of a new EWI and it is very cool! EWI - Electronic Woodwind Instrument. This thing is so far advanced from my early 80's EWI. Thanks AKAI for hooking me up!!
With the arrival of the EWIs, I contacted Matt at PatchManMusic and rounded out the gear for the EWI with the upgraded sounds for the EWI, new sound banks for the Roland 2020 module I use, and the Yamaha VL70m sound module with the PatchMan Turbo Chip for wind synthesis. Matt told me I am totally covered now with analog, digital and acoustic modeling. I need to get it all working better together, but I am excited that I am 100% back in the electronic wind world!!
Audio Technica actually returned my email! I have been an AT artist since 1991 and the last 2 years I have not had any luck getting needed gear. It looks like the love is still there. I was told that they are going to get me covered. Really Cool!
Extreme - the new year is starting off very extreme - very cool and very lame. I guess we will see wether the cool or the lame dominates 2007.
