Old Rugged Arrangement

It takes me too long to get this stuff done. I spent a few hours more than a couple of days this past week to finish an arrangement that I really like for the Old Rugged Cross. An arrangement, for me, means I created a basic drum pattern to loop and recorded a basic Rhodes track from beginning to end. I sent it to Bobby Cruz and he is my other pair of ears. He liked it and gave his OK for the arrangement.
Now I need to begin some orchestration. I will begin to shape the drum parts and track a basic Bass part this week. Once I have the Basic Rhythm tracks done, Rhodes, Bass, Drums; I will send it to Bobby for real Organ and Piano parts to be tracked. When Bobby gets it back to me, then Strings, Horn section and lastly Sax will be added.
I did this one different because I got tired of having to change all the Rhythm section parts if a section was changed on the last song. Now I am trying to finish the Arrangement first so any changes can be made on just one track, then fill in the Rhythm parts and then Orchestrate it. I think this order will work better over all.
Bobby has yet to get Piano and some Bass parts on the first track, I Have Decided To Follow Jesus, but I did have to listen thru it a few times while creating Charts for Bobby to track faster on the stuff I'm sending him to help me with. I was really excited to hear it after just a few days of being away from it and keep getting real excited about this CD.
My prayer is the same as day one on the project - I want this CD done by June 1st.
Thanks for following the project and hope your Easter season is BLESSED!
