The Old Rugged Cross
Hello web land. No comments yet but I see traffic coming from www.GregVail.com and a few other odd places so I know some of the Sax Community is finding its way to www.SaxPLayersBlog.com. Please feel free to sign up and post comments. You too can have a voice online.
CD Update - Tuesday 4/04.
It is really fun arranging songs and coming up with cool parts, but it can be really weird making the decisions for all of it. I could have had The Okd Rugged Cross done yesterday, but keep second guessing myself and then rearranging parts or transitions which then implies a different direction from there.
I am working with a Rhodes patch and trying to get the arrangement done. It seems like I had to replace so many parts when I did the last song and tried to finish each sections basic tracks (Piano, Bass, Drums) before the arrangement was solid.
My new idea is to set a basic drum patern and work out the changes and arrangement, and then add Bass, Drums and more.
This said, I have most the arrangement done, will listen thru it in a bit, and then start with the Bass and Drum parts.
It really is fun or I would not be doing it. No one is telling me too. I look forward to getting it out for your input and hopeful enjoyment.
Bye for now,
Greg
